Dr. Ryan Ricciardelli

Dr. Ryan Ricciardelli (MD, MBA) is a physician serving as an in-house consultant for Dowling Defense Group. Leveraging his experience as an anesthesia resident physician at a major Level 1 trauma center in Boston, Dr. Ricciardelli advises DDG attorneys on a broad range of issues related to the handling of controlled substances in state and federal criminal investigations.

Dr. Ricciardelli works with DDG to review case files, interview witnesses in the medical space, interpret guidance documents published by federal agencies, and advise DDG attorneys on how to approach disciplinary proceedings involving licensed medical professionals. His perspective on medicine affords DDG attorneys the ability to represent those accused of mishandling controlled substances—whether in a hospital setting, a pharmacy setting, or elsewhere—with an added layer of subject matter expertise.

Dr. Ricciardelli works with DDG to review case files, interview witnesses in the medical space, interpret guidance documents published by federal agencies, and advise DDG attorneys on how to approach disciplinary proceedings involving licensed medical professionals. Dr. Ricciardelli has previously served as a medical consultant for state-funded, non-profit organizations dedicated to developing and strengthening the healthcare workforce in underserved communities.  In addition, his research on reducing post-operative opioid use has been published in peer-reviewed medical journals and he has presented before an assembly of the New York State Society of Anesthesiologists. His research has made important contributions towards exploring alternatives to opioid use for pain control in the acute care setting.   

Dr. Ricciardelli received his medical degree from Albany Medical College with a distinction in health systems analysis.  He earned his MBA in healthcare management from Clarkson University and is currently training at a Harvard-affiliated residency program.
